3D Printing

3D printing is an additive manufacturing technology,in which a three dimensional object is created by adding material layer by layer to form  fully shaped 3D structure. 3D printing is an ultimate merge of software and material science. 3D printing is a key technology that helps to forge products at fraction of cost and time.

How Does 3D Printing Work

Despite of various technologies and types of 3D printers are available, 3D printing comprises of certain basic set of procedures;

Initially, a 3D blueprint is created using 3D CAD software.The printer is prepared and loaded with raw materials (such as plastics,powdered material or any kind of binding solutions). A build platform is prepared to start the printing process. Gradually, printer takes upon automatically by creating stratified layers to build the desired product. Fused deposition modelling is the most commonly used method of 3D printing where object is built through the process of material extrusion.

APPLICATIONS

3D printing has diverse range of applications in various fields.It has its hands on Manufacturing sector, Medical industry, Education industry, automotive and various other socio-cultural sectors.

It is said to transform the whole maker movement in general and is impacting the businesses of various sectors.

In Medical and humanitarian grounds, 3D printing is aiding in developing prosthetics, transplant equipment and enhancing drug facilities.

In Manufacturing and Automotive sector,it is aiding in dispensation of various end parts,furnishings and large industrial load bearings.

From the food industry to home decor, 3D printing is engaging in developing multiple parts, objects, packaging and embellishments.

3D printing is also  utilized for fabricating parts in aerospace, military, jewellery, clothing and many other sectors.

3D printing ,thus is a way forward that is aiding the production and manufacturing companies to create contemporary products in required quantities closer to the point of consumption. Moreover, it does help in mitigating  material waste and saving energy combating environmental pollution.

Therefore, 3D printing is revolutionizing the flow of goods and services in a cost-beneficial manner thereby enhancing the scope of product markets.
